School Trends chaos as parents fear kids will be without uniforms

Desperate parents have hit out at School Trends for a delay on delivering uniforms as they worry their kids won't get the orders in time for term starting next week.

Many have criticised the company for a lack of response when they've tried to phone or email to find out what's happening with their deliveries, with one mum saying it's "not good enough".

One mum asked for her order to be cancelled, another was told theirs wouldn't arrive on time, while one customer was given a vague response saying the company couldn't give a definite delivery date.

Some said they'd placed their orders three weeks ago – and still have not received the uniforms.

The company describes itself on is Twitter page as: "The leading supplier of logo'd uniform to Nursery, Primary, Secondary and Academy Schools in the UK. Supplying embroidered & plain item."

But it has been forced to apologise to several people over social media for delays on their uniforms arriving and for many being unable to get through to the customer service team, who they say are 'exceptionally busy' in the run up to schools opening.

One worried mum tweeted: "Please answer the phone or respond to emails to let me know my little girl is going to have a uniform for her first day at primary school."

She added: "Still no response. Been on hold for 30mins and then cut off.

"Please can I have response so I know if my little one won't have a uniform nxt week."

A reply from School Trends told her: "I'm sorry you're unable to get through to our CS team who are exceptionally busy at the moment.

"We would like to get this resolved as quickly as possible so please keep trying or provide your order number and I'll have a look for you."

Another parent wrote: "How is this acceptable?? And where was the communication to let me know about the delay?

"I ordered well within 21 days. This is my sons very first day of nursery school, how disappointing.

"How do you plan to resolve this?"

School Trends responded: "Hi Billie, Thank you for contacting us. I'm really sorry you're unable to get through to our CS team who are exceptionally busy with schools going back.

"I've checked your order and I'm so sorry but your order won't be arriving for Monday. We'd like to get this resolved for you."

They told another customer: "Unfortunately, part of your order is running late due to high volumes of orders for this garment that exceeded our expectations. We can’t give a definite date for delivery.

"I am very sorry for the delay. We will keep doing everything we can to dispatch the order as soon as we can."

One mum called Rebbecca tweeted: "How is 5 weeks not enough time to get an order out to people?

"My mum ordered for me off your website and have now being told some items may not arrive on time.

"What's my child meant to wear to school? NOT GOOD ENOUGH."

The company told her: "Hi Rebbecca, I'm so sorry for the delay with your order and that this has left your child without uniform for the start of the school year.

"We would like to get this resolved for you as quickly as possible but will need the order number from you so we can look into the issue."

Last year, Mirror Online reported on customers across the UK left furious after School Trends failed to deliver in time for the new academic year.

In the 2018 problems, School Trends blamed a "technical glitch" after leaving anxious parents and kids without uniforms.

Paul Essex, managing director at School Trends, said: "We are aware that a number of our customers are experiencing delays with their school uniform deliveries.

"These delays have been caused by one of our major suppliers experiencing a technical problem that resulted in orders on their system being cancelled and having to be re-entered manually.

"This, coupled with the exceptionally high volume of orders we’ve received this year, means we’ve not met our customers’ expectations and we can only apologise for the stress and anxiety this has caused.

"We are working around the clock to get any outstanding orders through the system and to our customers as quickly as possible."

Mirror Online has contacted School Trends for comment on this year's issues.
