Whether you loved or loathed her look, her outfit choice was filled with symbolism and it may change the way you feel.

Did Meghan, 39, choose to sport a gorgeous black dress because her stylist suggested it? Or because it contained a subtle message about hope?

The frock included a print of a white lotus flower which symbolises purity, enlightenment, self-regeneration and rebirth according to Binghamton University in the US.

Meghan also wore three bracelets, one of which was a Cartier tennis bracelet that belonged to Princess Diana who was last seen wearing it at the Royal Albert Hall in June 1997. It’s been reported that the pair wanted to feel like Diana was with them when they conducted the interview.

This is not the first time Meghan has worn Princess Diana ’s jewellery, her engagement ring was also designed with diamonds from Diana’s personal collection and she also wore Diana’s Asprey aquamarine ring at the couples wedding reception as her "something blue".

One of the other bracelets was also a Cartier love bangle which is an iconic symbol of love that transgresses convention and a timeless tribute to passionate romance according to the product description on the Cartier website.

Harry also has a matching one and it is believed to be a message about the couple's unbreakable bond, which is something she talks about in the two-hour-long interview.

Meghan also chose to wear earrings from Birks, which is a Canadian brand, and a necklace from British designer Pippa Small, giving a subtle nod at the two countries she’s previously lived in.

The aquamarine triple college set pendant necklace is also another symbolism of freedom and hope.

We can’t wait to see what she wears on her next appearance.
