Body-ody-ody, indeed.

Megan Thee Stallion sent her fans into a frenzy on TikTok Monday, sharing a clip of herself twerking in a jaw-dropping crystal mesh dress by Rey Ortiz.

But as Ortiz tells Page Six Style, the sheer, sparkly style was originally meant for a different star.

“I made it for Zerina [Akers, Megan’s stylist] for a celebrity that found it to be ‘too naked,” the designer dishes.

While Ortiz didn’t name names, Akers has also worked with Latto, Chloe x Halle and Beyoncé; the latter’s hit song “Cuff It” served as the soundtrack for Megan’s TikTok.

“I was a little disappointed, of course, but knew that it was a matter of timing and ‘cojones,’” the designer continued of the missed opportunity, adding of his crystallized creation, “The theme was ‘internet breaking,’ and I think we achieved something close enough.”

Nearly two years later, the cutout number finally had the major moment it deserved when the Houston hottie dared to don it for a night out — and “looked bomb,” as Ortiz puts it.

“Seeing it being worn was a good reminder of how much I loved it when I created it originally. Sometimes, when someone opts for another design instead of your custom creation, we can be very hard on ourselves wondering what failed or didn’t work,” he says.

“But the joy of seeing someone owning it and living their sexy life in it confirms that my instincts should continue to be embraced.”

And for the “Savage” rapper — who recently spent months away from the spotlight amid her assault trial against Tory Lanez, who in December was found guilty on all charges — the dazzling dress marked a return to her signature confident, curve-highlighting style.

“Megan is feeling and looking better than ever, and I’m glad we are part of each other’s history,” Ortiz says.
