This Could be the Real Reason Meghan Markle is being Bullied

Marrying into a new family can be tough. You have to take on all of their traditions and put up with their weird quirks. But imagine the issues that come with marrying into a royal family from another country. Unfathomable, right?

But that’s exactly what Meghan Markle did. And though she has tried to learn the royal family’s customs and be as polite and gracious as she can be, the British media has constantly attacked her for everything that she does.

What are people saying about Markle?

People have criticized Markle about everything from the way that she dresses to where she gave birth to her child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor.

Markle’s latest transgression was taking a private jet to France to vacation with Prince Harry and their baby. People have been quick to call Markle a hypocrite for talking about stopping climate change and still flying in a private jet.

“Meghan Markle & Prince Hazbo taking four private jets in 11 days is just beyond parody,” one person tweeted. “I mean, I assumed Harry had pretty low IQ after dressing up as Hitler… but oh dear. I suppose when he lectures on climate change, it’s we, the plebeians, who are supposed to travel by kayak.”

And while a private jet was probably not the most practical mode of transportation, the trip was a gift from Elton John.

Why does Markle receive such harsh criticism?

Markle and Harry aren’t the only royals to go on lavish vacations or spend money on home renovations, yet they seem to be getting the most criticism for doing so.

Some people believe that Markle gets so much attention in order to distract the public from the transgressions of other royals.

Recently, Prince Andrew has been connected to the Jeffrey Epstein child prostitution ring scandal. But that news has been getting way less coverage than Markle and Prince Harry.

“There are more people in the British press talking about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle flying on a jet…than talking about the alleged pedophile Prince Andrew,” one fan defended Markle.

“#PrinceAndrew: embroiled in sex trafficking scandal jets off to a friend’s $68M villa w/his live-in ex-wife who, while retains the title, isn’t married to him yet enjoys the royal privileges paid by taxpayers,” another person pointed out. “But y’all want to hate on #PrinceHarry and #MeghanMarkle.

Could racism be the reason Markle is treated so poorly?

While other members of the royal family quite literally get away with anything, Markle can’t sneeze without the whole country calling her out.

Some celebrities have accredited this disproportioned scrutiny to the fact that Markle is part African American.

“Ugh. Dear England and English press, just say you hate her because she’s black, and him for marrying a black woman and be done with it G******t,” English actress Jameela Jamil tweeted. “Your bullying is so embarrassing and obvious. You’ve all lost your marbles. It’s 2019. Grow up.”

And even Markle’s best friend, stylist Jessica Mulroney called the media out.

“When someone faces unfair criticism, you call it out,” she wrote on her Instagram stories. “When that person is your friend and your family, you call those critics what they truly are. Shame on you, you racist bullies.”
