A little known actress has revealed what it was like to act as Margot Robbie’s body double on the upcoming Barbie movie.

Emma Eastwood, 26, who is originally from California but lives in London, acted as a stand-in for the Oscar-nominated actress in the upcoming Greta Gerwig flick.

She had twice auditioned to be an extra in the film, but was turned down, and had given up all hope when she unexpectedly got a text from a casting director asking her to double as Margot.

Luckily, the pair are the same size and colouring, meaning she can shoot scenes where the star’s face isn’t in it, or help production light scenes.

Speaking to the New York Times, Emma revealed she ‘had her own trailer’ and ‘got the star treatment’ on set, making her feel ‘really spoiled’ on the Warner Brothers studio in London.

But that didn’t mean it wasn’t hard work, with her waking up before sunrise to be on set for 6am.

Emma had previously worked in adverts and and music videos but Barbie is her first time working as a body double.

One scene she filmed made it into the movie’s trailer -a shot of her walking up a set of stairs acting like her feet hurt.

‘They didn’t give me any details of what we would be doing,’ she added to NYT.

‘There were a couple times they said the whole cast would be there and it would be an important day, but they never actually gave me any details of what we would be doing until I was on set.’

Emma would sit in hair and make-up for hours, often getting caked in fake tan to replicate Barbie’s sunkissed look.

She would then stay in her own clothes until moments before going on set, in order to avoid damaging the clothes.

The plot of the highly anticipated movie has been kept under wraps, with Emma often not knowing what she was filming.

She won’t be able to see the film until its in cinemas next month, to know which other scenes she featured in.

Emma hoped to befriend Margot (pictured) to heighten her chances of working as her double again, but the pair rarely overlapped

One time, the actress had to lie on the ground facedown for an hour.

‘When I got up, I literally felt drunk I have no idea what that scene was about,’ she added.
