After starring alongside each other in three films over the past three years, Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson have established an ideal friendship.
Though the two actors are currently promoting their new film Men In Black: International, they are already looking forward to working together in the future.
Hemsworth and Thompson love working together so much, that they already have a good idea for a project that both of them would love to happen.
They are looking to remake an iconic romance film
Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth have quite the solid friendship.
After already working together on three films, the two actors are not looking to stop acting alongside each other anytime soon.
In fact, Thompson and Hemsworth already have a great idea for a new project.
While sitting down with Entertainment Tonight to talk about their new film Men In Black: International, Chris and Tessa responded to rumors that they are starring in a remake of the 1992 Whitney Houston-Kevin Costner classic, The Bodyguard.
“I started this rumor,” Thompson said with a laugh. “Because when we were making Thor [Ragnarok], he comes into work on Monday, and I’m like, ‘How was your weekend?’ and he’s like, ‘Good.’ He’s like, ‘Ah, The Bodyguard is such a good movie.’”
“And I’m like, ‘I’m sorry, what?’ That’s what he had been doing on Sunday, watching The Bodyguard,” she shared.
“When’s the last time you watched that?” Hemsworth defensively answered. “It’s brilliant!”
Thompson then revealed that was when the idea to star in the film’s remake alongside Hemsworth came to mind but with the roles reversed.
“I’ll be Whitney, yeah,” Hemsworth agreed. “And you carry me off-stage at some point.”
They respect the movie too much to do a remake
Despite their idea being something many of us would love to see on the big screen, Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson are pretty sure it won’t happen.
Not because it’s a bad idea, but because The Bodyguard is such an iconic film and there is no need for a remake.
Chris Hemsworth even admitted that the film is “almost too special to remake,” but he isn’t against working alongside Tessa Thompson in the near future.
“It’s been great,” Hemsworth said about working with Thompson. “Hopefully, she’ll have me around again.”
Instead of looking to remake The Bodyguard, one of Chris Hemsworth’s film ideas is already in the works.
Earlier this month, Tiffany Haddish revealed that the actor pitched an idea for a film about “an Australian strip group.”
The film will be called Down Under Cover and it will be centered on uncovering the culprits of a casino heist, with the main suspects being a group of Australian strippers.
Though Chris Hemsworth hasn’t talked about the film in public just yet, Tiffany Haddish couldn’t contain her excitement to be part of something like this.
“Sign me up!” Haddish told Entertainment Tonight during the premiere of The Secret Life of Pets 2. “I love to see a good man dancing. Ain’t nothing like a sexy man body working [it!]”
Chris Hemsworth and Tiffany Haddish began filming back in January and we can’t wait to see how well the actor’s pitch does on the big screen.
