Prince Harry has been confirmed to be attending his father King Charles III's Coronation next month.
The Duke of Sussex, 38, will attend the King’s Coronation but the Duchess of Sussex, 41, will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, Buckingham Palace has announced.
It comes after weeks of speculation surrounding whether the royal couple, who are now permanently based in California, would make an appearance at the historic event.
The date of the Coronation is also the couple's eldest son Prince Archie's fourth birthday, which could be the reason for Meghan's decision to stay in the US with the children.
Buckingham Palace shared a brief statement confirming the news on Wednesday 12 April.
“Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May.
“The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”
But where will Harry stay when he heads back to the UK?
Frogmore Cottage
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were allegedly given 'weeks' to pack up their British home of Frogmore Cottage after Harry's controversial memoir Spare hit the shelves in January.
According to reports, the King wanted Harry and Meghan out of Frogmore Cottage before his Coronation in May.
Meghan and Harry were said to have acknowledged 'they were very privileged' to have a home in the UK and in the US, but accepted it was 'not going to work for them'.
The couple last stayed at their former property for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022. They even hosted their daughter Lilibet's first birthday in the grounds, sharing a photo of the little one sitting on the grass outside.
Harry also stayed at Frogmore when he made the trip over alone for Prince Philip's funeral in 2021 when Meghan was heavily pregnant and stayed in California.
During his surprise appearance in the UK earlier this month for his High Court proceedings, Prince Harry is believed to have stayed at Frogmore Cottage for a few nights.
According to the Daily Telegraph, he used this opportunity to “sort out” his and Meghan’s remaining belongings before the couple vacate the property later this year.
This could mean the Duke of Sussex with stay in the property during his short stay for the Coronation.
It was reported that Frogmore Cottage will now be offered to Prince Andrew, 63, after it was revealed the Duke of York is set to be moved from Royal Lodge in Windsor Park, where he has lived since 2003.
Princess Eugenie
Another possibility is that Prince Harry will stay with his cousin, Princess Eugenie, who is pregnant with her second child.
Princes Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank and their son August live inside the royal home of Ivy Cottage in Kensington Palace.
Eugenie and Harry have a close bond, with his royal cousin visiting him in California amid speculation that she could purchase a home Stateside.
