Where to buy cheapest fans including Argos and Wilko

BRITAIN is currently sweltering in the hottest day of the year, so we’ve rounded up the cheapest fans to help keep you cool.

From hand-held devices, to large tower fans for your home, we've checked the major retailers for the best deals on the market.

It comes as the mercury climbed to a sizzling 31C at Heathrow Airport in London this afternoon – and it’s set to get even hotter still.

Forecasters say temperatures could go as high as 36C tomorrow, June 25.

If it does, it’ll set a new record for the hottest June day ever.

The current record dates back to 1976 when temperatures hit 35.6C.

If you're in the market for a fan to help keep you cool, we'd recommend comparing prices to make sure you're getting the best value for money.

Google's price comparison tool, Google Shopping, is free and easy to use.

Make sure you factor in delivery costs into your final bill.

Cheapest mini fans

The advantage of hand-held fans is they're small and light, so you can take them with you when you go outside.

The cheapest mini fan currently available is this £1.99 version from Superdrug.

It comes in three colours – blue, pink or black – and works off two AA batteries.

In total, the device measures 10cm in length.

To save money on delivery costs, you can see if your local Superdrug has one of these in store by using the online stock checker tool, or you can click and collect for free.

If you want it delivered, Superdrug charges £3 for orders under £15.

If you're still working from home, a desk fan could be a great idea to help keep you cool.

The best priced product we found was this £10 desk fan from Wilko, which measures around 15cm in length.

This one runs off mains electric and comes with a switch at the back to turn it on and off.

Wilko charges £5 for standard home delivery, or you can click and collect in store for £2.

But to save costs, it may be worth calling up your local store first to see if they already have any in stock.

Sadly, there isn't a way to check stock online.
