Woman’s missing cat found alive and hidden in wall after renovation blunder

Renovating your house can prove difficult.

You essentially have to live on a building site whilst improvements are being made.

Then what makes renovating your house even harder is having pets – and not knowing where to put them while your house is flipped upside down.

One woman had this exact problem after her cat went missing in her house during her bathroom renovations.

However, the cat did not get far after the woman heard meowing coming from her bathroom.

The cat couldn't be seen anywhere – and the owner realised the meowing was coming from inside the walls.

The furry pet managed to sneak into the wall whilst the tiles were being fitted.

Taking to TikTok under the username @giavannaaaa__ , the woman shared the moment he was cut out of the wall.

The cat owner added text to the video that explained: “So our tile went up today and I heard a meow… my cat got stuck in the wall.”

Panning around the newly fitted bathroom, the video shows no cat in sight.

The video then zooms in on a part of a blue wall, making viewers assume that the cat may be inside.

Luckily for the cat, the woman's dad cut a small square shaped hole in the connecting wall which created an opening for it to get out.

Hilariously, the moggy did not jump at the opportunity to escape and just poked its head out, seeming rather content in its new hideaway.

The video has now gone viral as it has racked up a staggering 5.5 million views and 624,000 likes.

Many people were left curious as to how the black cat got stuck in the wall in the first place.

The woman explained in the comments: “So our house has been getting remodelled since July. There was nothing closing off the wall so he made a hiding spot out of it.

“When the tile got done yesterday my dad and I forgot about the tile getting done and the cat being in there.”

She continued: “I went in later that night and I heard him and that’s where this happened lol.

"It was funny to us since he just stayed there while everything was getting done.”

People flocked to the comments to provide their thoughts on the cat blunder.

One user commented: “Hey, turn it into a little house for it!”

Another person added: “That cat looked like he seen some things.”

A third user joked: “And this newly remodelled house comes with automatic in-wall rodent control systems!”

Whilst someone else said: “Cats always manage to get in the craziest situations.”
