BUTLIN'S has delayed the opening date for their parks, blaming the government for a "lack of clarity" on safety guidelines.
The holiday parks were due to open on July 16, following the easing of lockdown measures which will let hotels and campsites open from Saturday.
However, the opening of resorts and parks would include new precautions in place, with swimming pools and entertainment initially banned.
The parks have warned that this has resulted in the delayed opening dates.
In a message on the website, it explains: "Following last week's announcement from the Government on the continued closure of pools and live entertainment, we have been waiting for further clarification on when and how we can open these facilities for you.
"Sadly we haven’t had a further update, and with breaks fast-approaching, we have now extended the closure of our resorts to the 23rd July."
Guests who have holidays outside this date can take advantage of the park's new "Coronavirus Book with Confidence Guarantee" which allows them to move or cancel the break for a full refund.
The parks are introducing new safety measures ahead of guests' return.
Safety measures will be in force across all sites, including Minehead and Skegness, when it does reopen.
Drive-through check ins will be introduced to prevent contact between staff and guests, while a reduced number of guests will be initially able to stay – housekeeping also won't visit during a holiday.
Hand sanitising stations will be around the parks, while restaurants will also limit capacity.
Center Parcs is to open from July 13, while Pontins will open from July 6 for eight weeks over the summer.
Haven are hoping to welcome guests from July 3, albeit on a limited basis with restricted attractions and amenities.
Bits are rushing to book holidays in the UK with cottages and hotels seeing rooms sell out.
