Cyprus holiday boost as country scraps ALL Covid travel restrictions

BRITS heading to Cyprus have been given a welcome boost as more Covid rules are being scrapped.

Previous rules required Covid tests from anyone who had not had both jabs.

From tomorrow, you no longer need to be vaccinated to enter the country, or show proof of a negative test or vaccination.

The Transport Ministry said all travellers would no longer be required to show anything to enter Cyprus meaning both vaxxed and unvaxxed can now visit without restriction.

A statement released by the Health Minister stated: "Over the last few weeks, there has been a steady trend in all epidemiological indicators and a further decrease in the number of hospitalised individuals, which raises the need to revise and update the protective measures to contain COVID-19, aiming to increase individual responsibility and awareness among citizens for compliance with personal protection measures."

Back in April, the country also ditched the recruitment to fill ina Cyprus Flight Pass to enter the country.

Holiday boost – Greece scraps more Covid rules from tomorrow

And face masks are also being scrapped at airports and indoor public spaces from tomorrow.

The rule change follows the announcement from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) that dropped mandatory mask-wearing.

But rules for wearing masks vary after the mandatory requirement was lifted, with airlines told to encourage passengers to use masks on flights to or from destinations where wearing a mask on public transport is still required.

Greece is scrapping face masks on planes from tomorrow, while Spain is yet to scrap them.
