The world’s biggest cruise ship, which is 1,200ft long, is preparing for its maiden voyage in January 2024.
Icon of the Seas features 20 decks, enough restaurants and catering services to feed 7,600 passengers and even a waterpark.
The enormous cruise liner has been built for Royal Caribbean at a shipyard in Finland. It has also made its first journey into open waters, before it is likely to be delivered in October.
The humongous vessel is a full 365 meters long – around 1,200ft – and weighs a whopping 250,800 tonnes.
There will be more than 40 dining, drinking and entertainment options on board, many of which are included in the cruise fare

Indeed, the 7,600 expected passengers will not even stretch the ship’s full capacity, which will be closer to 10,000 people thanks to the additional 2,350 crew members on board.
If being on board the world’s largest cruise ship is not glamorous enough for passengers, they will also have the luxury of being able to enjoy the world’s largest waterpark at sea.
This will contain featuring no less than six record-breaking slides, as well as seven pools and nine whirlpools for anyone who wants to relax.
The ship is set to be released by Royal Caribbean after being built at the Meyer Turku yard, ahead of its first voyage in January next year.
Royal Caribbean already boasts the title of having the world’s largest cruise liner, as its Wonder of the Seas ship stands at 1,188 feet, with 18 decks in comparison to the Icon’s 20.
Alongside the waterpark, voyagers will be able to enjoy the AquaDome, which will provide shows, a large viewing area, and the tallest waterfall at sea, which is 55ft high.
The entertainment zone will also contain a dedicated green space known as Central Park, a ‘chill island’ pool deck, and a swim-up bar.
The ship will also have other bars and restaurants, a surf simulator, a mini-golf course, sports court, and a rock climbing area.
There will be more than 40 dining, drinking and entertainment options, many of which are included in the cruise fare.
There are 28 different types of accommodation, with various options for families, the opportunity to have an ocean-facing cabin, as well as larger cabins for people travelling in groups.
To top it off, passengers will be travelling around the Caribbean throughout their trip and will have the chance to spend a day at Royal Caribbean’s private island resort, CocoCay
Icon of the Seas will sail for seven nights to islands in the east and west of the Caribbean from Miami, with year-round availability

Icon of the Seas will also be the first Royal Caribbean International ship to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and fuel cell technology, as the company seeks to move to clean sources of energy.
Thanks also to ‘other proven applications’ such as shore power connection and waste heat recovery systems, Icon, it’s touted, will be Royal Caribbean’s most sustainable ship to date.
To top it off, passengers will be travelling around the Caribbean throughout their trip and will have the chance to spend a day at Royal Caribbean’s private island resort, CocoCay.
A statement by Royal Caribbean released on June 22 read: ‘During her first set of sea trials, Icon of the Seas traveled hundreds of miles, during which the main engines, hull, brake systems, steering, noise, and vibration levels were all tested’
‘Everything was done on time as outlined in the schedule, despite her departure being delayed due to wind conditions.’
Icon of the Seas will sail for seven nights to islands in the east and west of the Caribbean from Miami, with year-round availability.
