These are the most wish-listed UK 'design homes' on Airbnb this year

Airbnb has revealed its most wishlisted ‘design homes’ from around the UK – and for lovers of interior design and architecture, it’s easy to see why these properties have made the cut.

Airbnb’s Design Category features incredible homes and it currently has approximately 20,000 listings globally and counting as people demand beautiful places to stay.

Released in celebration of the London Design Festival 2022, here are Airbnb’s most wishlisted UK design homes.

Now to decide which one to dream of booking first…

1. A converted warehouse on Old Street, London

Described as ‘one of the most spectacular homes you could imagine in Central London’, this converted 19th-century warehouse comes with a fully-equipped kitchen, three spacious bedrooms and a sunny terrace – the ideal spot for a morning coffee or evening G&T.

For anyone looking for a cool place to stay in London, the Old Street converted warehouse has it all – every bathroom is mirrored wall to wall, there’s walk-in rain showers, a high finish kitchen that runs the length of the room its in, two terraces and more.

If you’re needing to focus in on work, never fear, as the property comes with a spacious and functional study – or relax in the top floor living room, complete with stylish and comfortable sofas.

2. Boutique Victorian Flat in Maida Vale

This Maida Vale flat takes luxury seriously, guests can settle back in front of the period fireplace and watch the latest Netflix hit on the 55″ TV or take a dip in the free-standing bath.

The open plan living room (which has amazing views of tree-lined streets) is perfectly designed to accommodate an evening on the velvet sofa and with a large dining table and full kitchen for cooking a perfect meal.

3. Award Winning Townhouse With Courtyards & Garden, Clapham, Greater London

The wishlist-topping family townhouse won the 2021 New London Architecture ‘urban oasis’ award – and it’s easy to see why.

It has two indoor terraces, one with a cherry tree, a garden and a wildflower roof.

A stone’s throw from Clapham Common, the house is divided into two parts – the old and new – the sleeping areas are in the old part and the living areas mostly in the new part. Each floor has a bedroom and a bathroom on it and the ground floor has its own separate front door access.

4. The Shippon, Unique, Luxurious Gateway, Landscove, Devon

With heated concrete floors, curving deep green walls, reading nooks and a hand-built kitchen, you might be surprised to find out that the Shippon is actually a converted cow barn.

There’s a feather sofa, antique Scandinavian log burner, a king-size bed with French linen and down and a waterfall shower – and without any lights (yes, really), you might just sleep better than you have in years.

5. The Pigsty Woodland Hideaway, Pitt, Winchester

The Pigsty – Winchester’s first luxury woodland hideaway – is situated on a working farm, however in a secluded corner with minimal disturbance.

There’s a roll top bath in the cosy open plan living space and a decking area out front.

Perfect for those looking to visit the city or escape for some peace – the only thing you have to keep your eye on is the sunset over the fields.

6. Captain’s Cabin, Drimnin, Argyll and Bute

When it comes to the Captain’s Cabin, better views of the Sound of Mull are hard to come by.

The ‘tiny house’ property extends over the whole flat roof of an old chapel below it – and it aptly heavily nautically themed. I

There’s a saloon and galley, a bedroom with a king size bed and a shower room – the whole place is super cosy with underfloor heating.

7. The Blue House On The Beach, Camber, East Sussex

Situated on the miles of sandy beach in Camber, The Blue House is finished to the highest standards with bespoke kitchen, Apple TV, luxurious beds and sofas.

Pets are welcome at the getaway which can sleep eight guests across four bedrooms.

Walk straight from the property onto the beach for jaunts in the dunes or head to down to the sea for water activities.

8. Central Hide Away With Private Roof Terrace, Brighton, East Sussex

Situated right next to the Brighton Pavilion, this property sleeps a whopping 22 people people with its six bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms.

The hideaway is newly styled and renovated by a local Brighton interior designer and has been designed with only guests’ comfort in mind.

There’s a huge open plan lounge, drinks area, dining room, fully stocked kitchen that is perfect of anyone looking to prepare a large group meal.

9. The Crow’s Nest, Freathy, Cornwall

Perched atop the cliffs above Whitsand Bay, The Crow’s Nest comes with its own sauna.

Guests can wake up in a super king size bed to an ocean panorama before spending the day exploring the beach.

When it’s time to warm up take your pick between the free standing cast iron bath and the rainfall shower.
