TUI is selling July & August holidays under £499pp to Greece, Turkey & Spain

TUI is selling thousands of holidays to Europe this summer for under £499 per person.

There is currently no indication of when borders will open for nonessential travel, but the travel giant is hoping that Brits will be attracted by the budget package holiday prices.

The deals are for seven-night breaks in July and August, with prices starting from £309 per person.

There are holidays to some of the Med's most popular destinations, including Greece, Turkey, Portugal and Spain.

A traffic light system for travel when restrictions are lifted was announced by the government yesterday.

Different countries are set to be graded green, amber or red according to their vaccinations, infection rates, the prevalence of variants of concern, and their genomic sequencing capacity.

Travellers from green list countries will be required to take two tests before and after arriving in the UK, from amber countries they will need to test and also isolate at home and from red countries they will have to quarantine in a hotel.

It is unclear whether countries like Spain, Greece and Italy will have to be listed as amber though, as a result of the rising number of Covid cases among their populations.

The company are free changes on selected holidays due to depart before 31 October 2021, so check before you buy what the policy is for your trip.

If you or someone in your party is not able to travel due to contracting COVID-19, or you are officially required to self-isolate at the time of your departure, you will be able to change your holiday without charge. 

You can also change your booking free of charge if you’re travelling to a destination which means you’ll need to quarantine on your return. 

Boris Johnson explained on February 22 that UK holidays could restart from April 12, but is yet to announce when a trip abroad is back on the cards.

Another announcement on April 12 will be given for foreign holidays, but is expected to be no earlier than May 17, andthat particular date is looking increasingly unlikely as Europe battles a third wave of the pandemic.
