World’s biggest airlines ranked by how family-friendly they are

Parents may want to take note when booking their next holiday – the world's best family-friendly airlines have been revealed.

Emirates and Qatar Airways topped the list thanks to the wide array of family-friendly features they offered, as well as scoring highly for seat comfort.

New research from Play Like Mum compared 20 major airlines to determine just which ones need to be on parents' radars when travelling with kids.

The study ranked each airline across nine key factors; whether they offered free seat reservations, free checked luggage, pre-boarding for families, no lap fees, kids' meals, free kids' entertainment, on-board bassinets/carry cots, whether you could take a pushchair for free and seat comfort.

Oh, and there's good news for parents as every single one of the airlines allows passengers to bring a pushchair on board for free.

Emirates and Qatar proved a hit as they both ticked the box for each key factor from kids' meals to on-board bassinets. (You can check out the full list of the 20 airlines below).

Meanwhile British Airways and Virgin Atlantic were close behind, also offering all of the key features, although they scored slightly lower for their seat comfort.

Jet2.com offered the lowest number of the features, only offering kids' meals and free pushchairs on board. However the airline still ranked highly when it came to seat comfort.
