Al Roker reflects on health battle in emotional new message after the holidays

Al Roker has been reflecting on his health battle after he celebrated the holidays.

It has been a difficult time for the Today star who has been to and from hospital due to blood clots. First he went into the hospital just before Thanksgiving.

Always positive, the TV personality revealed he has found his happy place watching the fireplace after the Christmas festivities.

The presenter wished his legion of fans and friends every health and happiness as the new year approaches.

He wrote: “Hope your #tuesday brings you health and happiness. Being able to breathe deeply while watching a fire is my #happyplace.”

Many of his fans shared their wishes for him to recover quickly. Among the sea of comments, one wrote: “Hope you have a great New Year Al. We miss you!! Wishing you the best of health.”

Others added: “Keep embracing your happy place while you rest and heal. Many people you’ve never met are praying for you. You are loved by so many. Thanks for updating us with your beautiful fire posts. It’s so nice to hear that you’re on the mend.”

Putting his health first, Al has been missing from our screens since November but he did make a brief return to the Today show in recent weeks.

At the time, he gave an update on his recovery saying: “It has been a tough slog, I’m not going to lie. It has been the hardest one yet and I’ve had my share of surgeries. I have a lot of things and people to be thankful for.”

He added: “It gives you a profound sense of gratitude for this outpouring of prayers and thanks.”
