Arnold Schwarzenegger acknowledged that while wearing a mask was no longer a legal requirement in most circumstances, he slammed those who choose not to wear one to keep others safe. The 74-year-old issued a stern message to those who claim mask wearing is against their rights.

“Screw your freedom,” the Terminator actor enthused. “Because with freedom comes obligations and responsibilities.”

His comments were a part of a discussion with CNN’s Bianna Golodryga and Alexander Vindman to promote the latter’s new book titled Here, Right Matters.

The actor turned Republican governor of California went on to say: “We cannot just say, ‘I have the right to do X, Y and Z’.

“When you affect other people, that is when it gets serious.”

Arnold went on to compare those against masks to flouting traffic laws.

He continued: “You cannot say, ‘No one is going to tell me that I’m going to stop here, that I have to stop at this traffic light here.

“‘I’m going to go right through it.’ Then you kill someone else, and then it is your doing.”

He went on to highlight that those who don’t wear a mask could pass the disease on, which could result in death.

The actor urged America to “work together”, adding it’s “the only way we can lick this virus”.

Arnold has also encouraged people to get the coronavirus vaccine, which is deemed the safest and best protection against the disease.

Back in January, he shared a video of himself receiving his first dose.

The father-of-five told fans: “Come with me if you want to live!”

He went on to urge people to listen to the experts and those behind the jabs.

“Dr. [Anthony] Fauci and all of the virologists and epidemiologists and doctors have studied diseases and vaccines for their entire lives, so I listen to them and I urge you to do the same,” he added of President Biden’s top adviser.

Arnold added: “Weakness is thinking you don’t need expert advice and only listening to sources that confirm what you want to believe.”

In April, the President announced Americans who have been fully vaccinated can relax their use of face coverings outdoors, under new rules.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson also relaxed the lockdown restrictions in England on July 19.

The original ‘Freedom Day’ date was scheduled for June 19, but this was delayed due to the rise in cases.

Boris said the four-week delay would allow thousands more people to receive their Covid jab.

Masks have remained compulsory to be worn on TFL services and are recommended in enclosed environments.
