Britain’s Got Talent: Amanda Holden covers up for live semi-final after she shocked viewers with her revealing outfits and triggered Ofcom probe over plunging ‘spiderweb’ dress

  • The TV presenter, 48, stepped out in a long-sleeved sparking silver ensemble that had a zebra-print design and covered up her modesty during Friday’s live show
  • Despite the controversy Amanda said her husband Chris Hughes had given the busty outfits his approval, saying: ‘We’ve had plenty of complaints apparently, but none from home, let me tell you’
  • Amanda’s racy outfits have been subject to Ofcom complaints in the past – the Julien Macdonald gown she wore during the BGT 2017 semi-final attracted a staggering 663 complaints
  • 200 complaints were also made after she swore live on air during an act on Monday’s episode of the show

She has been putting on a daring display all week long during the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent.

And Amanda Holden put on a distinctly more demure display on Friday night’s life show, amid Ofcom’s probe into her racy ‘spiderweb’ outfit.

Britain’s Got Talent: Amanda Holden covered up for live semi-final on Friday after she shocked viewers with her revealing outfits and triggered Ofcom probe over plunging ‘spiderweb’ dress

Amanda’s ensemble had a chic tassel wrapped around her waist to accentuate her trim frame, whilst her high-cut outfit highlighted her slender legs.

The judge boosted her height in a pair of see-through heels, while she kept her accessories to a minimum so she didn’t distract from her outfit.

Her blonde locks were brushed into glamorous waves and with a middle parting, and she wore a natural palette of make-up to accentuate her pretty features.

Quite different: Amanda’s outfit was distinctly more modest than her infamous ‘spiderweb’ dress

Demure: Amanda’s ensemble on Friday’s show was markedly different to her Julien Macdonald gown which she wore in 2017

Some fans poked fun at Amanda’s more demure choice of ensemble, as they took to Twitter to comment on the chic outfit.

One wrote: ‘What no boobs showing tonight Amanda? Sure you and Simon haven’t accidentally swapped clothes?’

Another joked: ‘Well at least Amanda is dressed tonight.’

While another viewer went on to say: ‘Amanda looking very reserved tonight!’

On Monday night, she made an impression in thigh-skimming gown by Ziad Nakad, showing off a liberal amount of leg thanks to the asymmetric hemline.

On Tuesday, the blonde beauty had also risked a wardrobe malfunction in a cut-out number by Jennifer Clair.

The stunning jewel hued frock featured a cut-out at the bust, threatening to expose her cleavage, as well as a high-high split running up her right leg.

On Wednesday night, she dared to bare in the revealing, spider web number which attracted the Ofcom complaints.

And On Thursday she revealed her ample cleavage in a plunging, midnight blue gown, adorned with white floral detail and sequins.

Revealing: Amanda’s outfit on Thursday night had a deep plunging neckline to show off her cleavage

The latest in the long line of revealing outfits comes as the star commented on the widespread uproar over her outfits in a candid interview with The Sun.

She said: ‘My t*ts seem to become the show’s biggest talking point every year.’

Playfully revealing her husband Chris Hughes had given the busty outfits his approval, she added: ‘We’ve had plenty of complaints apparently, but none from home, let me tell you.’

Amanda’s most outrageous outfits and controversial moments on Britain’s Got Talent

Amanda’s wardrobe has led to some controversial moments in the past after a daring Julien Macdonald gown she wore during the semi-final of BGT two years ago attracted a staggering 663 Ofcom complaints.

The plunging floor-length dress was slashed to the navel, with a cut-out panel that reached down to the small of her back – and came under fire when furious viewers deemed it ‘inappropriate’.

But despite the £11,000 ensemble causing hundreds of viewers to complain to Ofcom, the media regulator decided not to investigate.

Ofcom said that while it recognised the dress ‘had potential to offend some viewers during what is a family show’ – the outfit ‘would not have exceeded most viewers’ expectations’.

And this wasn’t the first time risque outfit choices on Britain’s Got Talent caused fans to lodge official complaints.

In 2016, Ofcom again decided not to investigate the ITV show after outfits worn by Holden and fellow judge Alesha Dixon sparked 90 complaints from viewers.

Amanda also found herself the subject of Ofcom complaints earlier in the week.

Ofcom received 200 complaints about Monday night’s Britain’s Got Talent after she swore live on the show.

Yet taking a light-hearted approach to her F-bomb, the TV presenter joked to hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly: ‘I’ve washed my mouth out with soap, so we’re all good!’

Amanda also revealed that her attention-grabbing ‘spiderweb’ dress from Wednesday night had seen her wear a nipple cover for the ‘first time ever’.

She said: ‘I was thinking that it’s a family show and people talk about my boobs every year, so I thought I would wear a nipple cover. I’d now happily put it on eBay. ‘

This comes as the judge, who is famous for making controversial fashion choices on the ITV talent contest, opted for a sheer dress which showed off plenty of flesh and was branded ‘inappropriate’ by viewers on Wednesday.

In total, Ofcom received 22 complaints about last night’s Britain’s Got Talent – nine of which about Amanda’s dress.

An Ofcom spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘We are assessing these complaints against our broadcasting rules, but are yet to decide whether or not to investigate.’

After she stepped out in the racy ensemble, viewers were divided, and whilst some rushed to compliment the stunning ensemble, others wished she would dress more ‘appropriately’.
