Britney Spears’ Sons ‘Happy’ for Their Mom Despite Not Attending Her Wedding to Sam Asghari

An attorney for Kevin Federline, the pop star’s former second husband, confirms that Britney and Kevin’s two children Sean Preston and Jayden James ‘are not going to be in attendance at the wedding.’

AceShowbizBritney Spears‘ sons are apparently sending their best wishes to their mother from afar on her special day. Sean Preston and Jayden James, whom the singer shares with her ex Kevin Federline, remain supportive of their mother and her relationship with Sam Asghari despite their absence at the couple’s wedding.

Kevin’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan has confirmed to Page Six that they boys will not be attending her nuptials on Thursday, June 9, but they are “happy” for her. “The boys are not going to be in attendance at the wedding,” the attorney says.

“They think the focus of this day should be on Britney and Sam, and they are very happy for her moving forward,” Mark adds. The lawyer wouldn’t reveal whether the teens did not receive an invitation from their mom or if it was their decision not to attend the wedding, but the high-powered attorney says, “You can assume that the boys were welcomed to attend if they expressed that desire.”

The lawyer gives a similar statement to PEOPLE about Sean and Jayden’s absence at their mom’s wedding. “They’re happy for their mom and they are hopeful that Sam and Britney are starting a great future together,” he says. “It’s their night and they didn’t want to take away from them.”

As to how Kevin reacts to Britney’s wedding to Sam, the lawyer speaks on behalf of his client, “He wants her to be happy and believes this will be a positive step for her in a post-conservatorship era, building a healthy, happy future going forward.”

As reported before, Britney and Sam were set to tie the knot on June 9 at her mansion in Thousand Oaks, California. During final preparations for the wedding, her former first husband Jason Alexander broke into her house.

Jason was tackled by police after the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department received a call about trespassing. He was subsequently booked for trespassing, vandalism and 2 batteries related to his physical altercations with Britney’s security.

Britney’s lawyer Mathew Rosengart was fuming over the incident, saying that he wants Jason to be “aggressively prosecuted.” He told Page Six, “I express my thanks to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department for their prompt response and good work. I’m working closely with law enforcement to ensure Mr. [Jason] Alexander is aggressively prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
