In another example of just how out of touch the Kardashians and Jenners can be, Khloé Kardashian is coming under fire for posting a set of "thirst traps" yesterday, just days after eight people were killed at Travis Scott's Astroworld performance.
Page Six reports that Kardashian posted a trio of images showing her in a sheer, skin-tight animal-print bodysuit and garnered criticism from commenters, who called her out for not realizing that people were still coming to terms with what had happened in Houston last week.
"Read the room. The first Astroworld victim was buried yesterday," one commenter wrote. Another echoed the sentiment, adding, "Completely tone deaf."
Others informed Khloé that she and her family have incredible reach and that people everywhere are looking to them for any message — and all they got was another set of sexy snapshots.
"People are watching you guys. I think we can pause this for a week or so after people died at TS [Travis Scott] concert just a thought," a different commenter noted. Another was simply exasperated, writing, "Oh you can't be serious."
On Sunday, Khloé's sister, Kylie (who shares a daughter, Stormi Webster, with Scott) issued a statement on her Instagram Story, writing, "I want to make it clear that we weren't aware of the fatalities until the news came out after the show and in no world would have continued filming or performing."
Since the tragedy, Scott has pledged to cover funeral costs for the eight victims and partnered with mental health company BetterHealth to offer grief counseling and mental health services for anyone that attended Astroworld Fest.
"In order to support the mental health of those impacted by the events that took place at Astroworld, BetterHelp is providing one month of free therapy to all attendees," BetterHelp said in a statement. "Once signed up, members will be matched to a therapist within 48 hours. The link to get started is betterhelp.com/cactusjackfoundation."
