Over the past couple of years, even amid Lopez’s high-profile relationship with baseball legend Alex Rodriguez, Affleck openly gushed open his former fiancé’s beauty, and he spoke candidly about the racist abuse that she endured during their relationship.
Now, the Pearl Harbor star and the Hustlers actor have seemingly made their way back to one another, and their PDA proves they are right back where they left off.

Lopez and Affleck were first spotted together in July 2002, almost 20 years ago. Affleck was already a massive blockbuster star, and Lopez’s celebrity was exploding with her music and romantic comedies. Though they had very different lifestyles, with Lopez being a workaholic and more straight-laced and Affleck being a party boy, they clicked.
By 2003, the pair were engaged to be married, and Lopez was wearing a massive pink diamond on her ring finger. The pair planned a massive 400-guest wedding for Sept. 2004, but shortly before the wedding, they called it off due to the media frenzy surrounding it. “Due to the excessive media attention surrounding our wedding, we have decided to postpone the date,” they said in a joint statement to CBS News. “We felt what should have been a joyful and sacred day could be spoiled for us, our families, and our friends.”
In the end, the wedding was never rescheduled and the pair eventually went their separate ways. “We didn’t try to have a public relationship,” Lopez told People in March 2016. “We just happened to be together at the birth of the tabloids, and it was like, ‘Oh my God.’ It was just a lot of pressure. I think different time, different thing, who knows what could’ve happened? But there was a genuine love there.”

In May 2021, fans were stunned when Affleck and Lopez were spotted vacationing together, first in Montana and then later in Miami and LA.
“Ben reached out to her to see how she was doing, and they had dinner together a few times within this last month,” an insider told E! News. “It’s natural between them, and the chemistry is unreal. They picked up where they last left off and are enjoying each other’s company right now.”
The pair have not confirmed their romance. However, earlier this year, Affleck offered gushing words about the Selena actor. “She remains, to this day, the hardest-working person I’ve come across in this business,” he told InStyle. “She has great talent, but she has also worked very hard for her success, and I’m so happy for her that she seems, at long last, to be getting the credit she deserves.”
