Jennifer Lopez has walked down the aisle three times, but the World of Dance star only considers one of those marriages important.
In a YouTube video documenting the behind the scenes moments of her It’s My Party Tour, she revealed that her decade-long union with Marc Anthony, the father of her children, is the only one she deems legitimate. Her marriages to with ex-husbands Ojani Noa (1997 to 1998) and Cris Judd (2001- 2002) were failed attempts she barely even acknowledges!
“I’ve been married three times and once was nine months and once was 11 months so I don’t really count those,” explained the singer/actress, who is now engaged to former baseball player Alex Rodriguez. “I was married to Marc for 10 years with the kids. I was very young the first two times I tried to get married. I’m saying ‘tried to’!”
The “Dinero” singer, 49, shared her then flawed expectations of marriage and offered advice to prevent others from making the same mistakes she made.
“It seems like in this life, like you’re always surrounded by people, you’re never lonely,” she continued. “But it’s very lonely. And so you always want somebody with you. Somebody. And so I felt like if I got married, I felt like I would always have somebody. But that’s not how life works. That’s not how it goes. It’s a bad reason to get married! Not the right one. The wrong one! The right one is when you find somebody who really makes you better.”
With lessons learned from her past, she is now preparing for her wedding to ARod, 43, which she says will happen next year. This time, though, she wants to try something different.
“I’d like a big wedding, I’d like to get married in a church this time,” she shared. “Never been married in a church.”
As readers know, J.Lo announced her engagement to Rodriguez in March. Since then, multiple cheating allegations against the former baseball player have threatened their bond.
Radar exclusively reported the Shades of Blue actress has a “detailed calendar” of her fiance’s every move to ward off unwarranted interactions with women, a source said.
