Jill Scott has revealed she was ‘scared of losing’ the engagement ring she bought for fiancée Shelly Unitt that she started carrying it everywhere in a rucksack.
The I’m A Celebrity winner, 35, popped the question to her partner in March 2020 by slipping a diamond ring into a glass of champagne during a weekend away at Huddersfield’s Titanic Spa.
Revealing the details of the romantic moment in a new interview with HELLO! the former Lioness said Shelly ‘became convinced I was going to break up with her’ as she was acting strange.

She explained that she hid the dazzling ring in her sport rucksack and kept it with her whether she went so it wouldn’t ruin the surprise.
Jill said: ‘I was so scared of losing it, Shelly became convinced I was going to break up with her, because I was acting so weird.’
Shelly, 37, added: ‘Everywhere she went in the house, the rucksack went with her and if we were going out, she’d spend ages trying to work out where to put it. I honestly had no idea. I just thought she was leaving me!’

Jill admitted her and Shelly are actually ‘total opposites’ as she is very ‘laid back’ but they always find a ‘middle ground’ making their relationship work.
She continued: ‘We’ve said that in the new year, we need to make a life plan of everything. It’s been so busy; we still haven’t had our engagement party yet.’
The ITV star also revealed that she will be inviting her ‘I’m A Celeb campmates and their families’ to the wedding.

The Queen of the Jungle previously said she can’t wait to marry her fiancée and admitted being apart from her longterm love in the camp was ‘difficult.’
In her first interview since winning the jungle title, Jill said: ‘We got engaged two years ago and Covid hit us, so I think we do need to get some planning in place. It will be nice.
‘We need to sit down and just catch up on the last five weeks and what’s happened but obviously getting engaged, the next plan is to get wed.

‘I have always appreciated our relationship 100 per cent – being able to go off and do football and be away two weeks out of every month it’s so hard for the person that you’re with and the sacrifices they have to do and knowing I had Shelly’s support going into this from day one, if I hadn’t I wouldn’t have been able to do it so we’re a good team.
‘I am excited to see what happens in the future, but I don’t think there will be a wedding in the jungle!’
Jill and her fiancée Shelly run a coffee shop in Manchester called Boxx2Boxx, which is named after the footballer’s position on the pitch as a box-to-box midfielder.
