Joe Biden Formally Announced As Democratic Nominee For President During DNC

Joe Biden is no longer the presumptive nominee for President by the Democratic party.

The 77-year-old politician was formally announced as the nominee during an unconventional “roll call” from DNC chair Tom Perez, who called for votes on who the party should nominate for the position.

Delegates from all 57 states and territories voted through a video to nominate Mr. Biden.

“It is the honor of my life to accept the Democratic Party’s nomination for President of the United States of America,” Joe shared in a tweet, following the announcement, and briefly thanked his supporters via livestream.

Joe‘s running mate, Kamala Harris, watched the roll call vote from her couch, where husband Douglas Emhoff snapped a picture of her own reaction to the announcement.
