Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling 'secretly marry in Dublin'

Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling reportedly married in Dublin last month.

The Love Island host, 35, and comedian Iain, 32, are said to have tied the knot in a small ceremony held in Laura’s native on November 11.

According to The Sun, the couple, who have been dating for three years, wed in front of 25 guests – the maximum number of guests allowed under Ireland’s lockdown restrictions.

It’s said Laura and Iain married at Dublin’s City Hall, in a Humanist ceremony with sources revealing the small affair was ‘such a romantic day’.

Laura’s brother Adam and Iain’s sister Kirsten acted as witnesses for the couple, according to the pair’s marriage certificate obtained by the publication.

‘Iain and Laura are so in love, they really wanted to get married as soon as possible,’ insiders told the paper.

‘Despite circumstances not being being ideal, it was such a romantic day.’

Laura and Iain are both yet to publicly comment on reports they have married.

Fans had speculated that the couple are now husband and wife, after Iain was seen sporting a wedding ring on his finger while filming a Loose Women special on his return to the UK.

He and Laura are known for being notoriously private with their relationship, but speculation they had got engaged surfaced in April, earlier this year.

Laura was spotted with a yellow-diamond ring on her wedding finger, but never addressed the reports.

She and Iain began dating in 2016, after meeting at an ITV party through mutual friend Ore Oduba – who had appeared on Strictly Come Dancing alongside Laura.

Laura later revealed that Ian had later slipped into her DMs, but she was the one who plucked up the courage and made the first move, as he was ‘too nervous’ to ask her out.

‘When we first met [Iain] didn’t even hit on me, he was too nervous to hit on me! I think he was intimidated by me,’ she said on JD’s In The Duffle Bag podcast.

‘I remember Iain was too scared to ask me out, so in the end I had to ask him out,’ she said. ‘He used to send me random messages, DM me and ask me about my dog. It took nine months but we go there, I was like, “Let’s just go for a drink,” I think I had to make the moves on him.’

Speaking about his relationship with Laura, Iain told pal Chris Ramsey: ‘I’ve got someone who’s like me, but much, much better. And Laura’s got someone who’s like her, but much worse. I’ve done well out of it, but I’m dead happy because she’s lovely and stuff.’

As well as dating, the pair were seen working together on Love Island’s first ever winter series at the beginning of 2020.

Laura took over as host of the ITV2 dating show from Caroline Flack, who died in February while Love Island was airing.

Iain is the show’s voice-over and had been working with Laura in South Africa on the series, that was later won by Paige Turley and Finley Tapp.
