Meghan Markle tells all in first magazine interview since quitting royal life

Meghan Markle has opened up in her first interview since quitting royal life, covering her new life in Montecito, her two children with Prince Harry and her time as a working royal.

In the interview, Meghan spoke on her time in the Royal Family, hitting back at the institution on not being allowed to publish from her own social media accounts during her time in The Firm.

She opened up to The Cut: "There’s literally a structure by which if you want to release photos of your child, as a member of the family, you first have to give them to the Royal Rota."

She added: “Why would I give the very people that are calling my children the N-word a photo of my child before I can share it with the people that love my child? You tell me how that makes sense and then I’ll play that game.”

She is also featured going on the school run to pick up Archie, remarking how she could never be able to do so in the UK without a huge amount of press attention.

She explained: “Sorry, I have a problem with that. That doesn’t make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child."

Elsewhere in the interview, she teases an upcoming Netflix drama about her and Prince Harry, saying: “The piece of my life I haven’t been able to share, that people haven’t been able to see, is our love story."

Meghan and Prince Harry stepped back from royal life in early 2020, with the pair going onto launch their company Archewell later that year – a company that features a non-profit arm as well as sub-divisions for their TV and audio work, including Meghan's new podcast Archetypes.

She opens up on being able to run her own projects away from the Royal Family, saying: “When the media has shaped the story around you, it’s really nice to be able to tell your own story".
