Meghan Markle Wore a Denim Top and Shorts For Prince Harry's Polo Game

On Friday, Meghan Markle stood on the sidelines to cheer on Prince Harry’s polo team, who were fighting for a place in their league final. For the event, she wore a pair of denim shorts from Doen with a high waist and A-line silhouette. To match, she wore a long-sleeved denim top in a slightly lighter wash, tucking the hem into her shorts and leaving the long sleeves unbuttoned.

Meghan paired the cool and comfortable summer look with Grecian-style sandals, black sunglasses, and a black cardigan thrown around her shoulders in case the day turned cool. She accessorized with a few pieces of understated jewelry and an elegant watch.

It was a similar look to the one she modeled at another polo match at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club in mid-May, though those shorts had a different cut.

Harry’s team, Los Padres, competes for the Pacific Coast Circuit Inter-Circuit Cup, a league founded by Argentinian polo player Nacho Figueras, who is a good friend of the Prince. Harry recently took a fall off of his horse during a match on June 10. He seemed to have recovered by the time he took the field a week later.

The Sussexes spend a fair amount of time at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club close to their home in Montecito, California. The family has returned there after a visit to the U.K. to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. It was the first time the Queen met their youngest, a little girl named Lilibet, who turned one that same weekend.

It was not the easiest trip, according to a source speaking to the Daily Mail, who said that the relationship between Harry and his older brother Prince William has become strained in recent years. William allegedly has an issue with Harry and Meghan deciding to step away from their roles as working members of the royal family.

“He [William] alternates between grieving for what he has lost and feeling really, really angry about what his brother has done,” said the source. “He truly loves Harry and feels he has lost the only person, aside from his wife, who understood this strange life of theirs.”
