Pearl Jam Share New Single ‘Superblood Wolfmoon’

Pearl Jam have released a new single, “Superblood Wolfmoon,” from their upcoming 11th album, Gigaton, due out on March 27th via Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records.

The alternative rock band had earlier previewed the track via smartphones last week.

Prior to the release of the track, Pearl Jam encouraged fans to engage in an augmented reality experience to hear a preview of the new song, instructing them to use the Pearl Jam app and to direct their cell phone camera toward the moon, which would then trigger the teaser clip.

“Superblood Wolfmoon” sees the group’s frontman Eddie Vedder reflecting on a failed relationship.

“She was a stunner and I am stunned,” Vedder sings. “And the first thought or second thought ‘Could be the one’/ I was a prisoner of keys and the cuffs/ Yeah, I was feeling fortunate to be locked up.”

He adds, “I don’t know anything, I question everything/ This life I love is going way too fast.”

Earlier, the band had released a single, “Dance of the Clairvoyants” and three music videos for the track in mid-January.

Gigaton, is the group’s first album since the release of Lightning Bolt in 2013, marking the longest period of time they’ve ever gone between albums.

Pearl Jam is set to embark on a 16-date North American tour in March and April to promote the album.
