Pop Smoke fans line streets to pay respects at rapper’s funeral

Pop Smoke fans lined the streets of Brooklyn to pay their respects at his funeral.

The Dior rapper was shot in his Hollywood Hills home on 19 February, later dying in hospital, aged 20.

And devastated fans turned up to pay their respects to thelate star – real name Bashar Jackson – two weeks after his death.

On Thursday, two white horses were seen pulling a carriage containing his coffin through his hometown, while people watched on behind a barricade.

Daily Mail reports that there were times the growing crowd ‘yelled out in adoration’ as the procession went past.

50 Cent was among those saying their final goodbyes to the Welcome To The Party star as his body was laid to rest at a Brooklyn cemetery.


Pop’s family previously held a private ceremony for those closest to him to share tributes.

The late star was shot by invaders at his Hollywood Hills home last month, with police currently investigating his death.

According to officials, CCTV cameras caught four hooded men enteringhis house at around 4.30am, with officers alerted to their presence by someonecalling them from the east coast of America.

They arrived six minutes later, rushing Pop to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds.


He was pronounced dead at hospital, with the cause of death being a gunshot wound to the chest.

TMZ states the murder ‘appears to be a targeted hit and not a robbery’, but none of the four suspects have been apprehended.

Tributes for Pop poured in on social media soon after, with Nicki Minaj commenting: ‘The Bible tells us that jealousy is as cruel as the grave. Unbelievable. Rest in Peace, Pop.’

50 Cent said: ‘R.I.P to my man Pop Smoke, No sympathy forwinners. God bless him.’

While Kylie Jenner simply added: ‘Rest in peace Pop Smoke.’
