Ruth Langsford is forced to apologise to viewers after consumer expert swears live on This Morning… leaving Eamonn Holmes VERY unimpressed

Ruth Langsford was forced to say sorry to This Morning viewers on Monday’s live show, after their in-studio guest cursed on air.

Katie Morley was on the show taking calls from people who needed consumer advice, speaking to a lady called Lesley who was recounting an issue she’d been having getting a refund.

Katie’s response was: ‘Oh I’m so sorry darling, that’s s**t!’

She was quick to put a hand to her mouth as she realised her gaffe, with Ruth swiftly stepping in and apologising to viewers for the early-morning slip.

‘I do apologise for that!’ Ruth said, as Katie mumbled ‘so sorry!’ 

Ruth’s co-host and husband Eamonn Holmes looked extremely unimpressed at the error, after which Katie attempted to carry on with the segment. 

Ruth and Eamonn have stepped in to host This Morning during the week while Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are taking the summer off.

Last week, Ruth was left less than impressed when her husband interrupted her as they opened the show.

The couple were speaking to psychologist Emma Kenny about anxiety when Ruth, 60, began to read the autocue, however, she was quickly interrupted by Eamonn, also 60. 

Ruth turned to the camera and began: ‘Yes there is the number to call to get in touch…’

Eamon then said: ‘Monday morning blues OK? That’s exactly what we’re talking about. If it’s there and in the pit of your stomach and you want to share, please do.’

He then picked up on Ruth’s mood as he added: ‘I’m getting that look from my wife which says…’ 

Ruth retorted: ‘I was in the middle of reading the number out.’

Eamon replied: ‘Darling I didn’t feel that you explained correctly what we…’

Ruth said: ‘Well I was in the middle of explaining, now you’ve mansplained it!’

Moving on: The crew could be heard breaking into laughter as the couple awkwardly moved onto the next topic 

Ruth said: ‘Well now that you’ve mansplained it to all of us, lets carry on.’

Ruth cheekily asked: ‘Do you want to read that bit or should I do it?’
