Stacey Solomon has been hailed as "superwoman" by her sister Jemma, who was by her side during her daughter's home birth.

Taking to her Instagram account on Wednesday morning, Jemma shared a sweet snap of her smiling for the camera alongside Stacey as she cradled her adorable newborn.

In the caption, Jemma lovingly wrote: "BABY GIRL, it was an honour to see you being born into the world, your mummy was superwoman and your daddy was so so happy to meet you.

"You have been born into a family of pure love and joy and we are so excited to grow with you. Congratulations Stacey and Joe we love you always and forever xxx."

Loose Women star Stacey welcomed her daughter into the world on her 32nd birthday on Monday 4 October, meaning the mother and daughter share the same birthday.

As Stacey shared clips from the special moment, she revealed that her sister Jemma was by her side as well as husband-to-be Joe Swash.

In her birthing video, Stacey explained how she went into the hospital on her birthday as she "woke up feeling a little twingey".

After being monitored, Stacey headed home but went into labour at her home, named Pickle Cottage.

A later clip sees Stacey's sister Jemma by her side as she had her phone in her hand to count how far apart the contractions were.

Jemma, who runs The Label Lady business, can be seen filming herself and Stacey with one phone while using the timer on another.

She explains to the camera: "Contractions, they're one minute."

Jemma was incredibly handy to have around during the birth as she is a paediatric nurse as well as a businesswoman.

Jemma organised Stacey's baby shower in September to celebrate the upcoming arrival of her daughter.

And following the lovely event, held in Stacey's sprawling country garden, the former X Factor star paid tribute to her sister in an Instagram post.

Stacey posted a snap of the pair at the pink-themed event and wrote in the caption: "Sisters from birth and sister not from the start, but that fate brought together to be sisters by heart…

"Thank you for everything, I love you more than you'll ever know [black heart emoji] Never felt so special".
