Ashley Graham Breastfeeds Her Son in a Coffee Shop and We Applaud Her

Ashley Graham recently took to her Instagram to share a photo of herself breastfeeding her newborn son Issac in a coffee shop and the message she’s sending with her photo is quite the powerful one. The model, who welcomed her first child with husband Justin Ervin on Jan. 18 shared the magical moment with her 10 million followers Thursday evening.

She paired her caption, which consisted of a coffee emoji and a milk emoji, with two photos of herself both sipping on her beverage and gazing down at her beautiful baby boy.

Moms quickly filled the comments section with appreciation for Ashley’s powerful photo and applauded her for helping to normalize such a beautiful, natural act.

“Ah I love this ? love seeing other women breastfeeding in public because it helps me feel more confident doing it even though I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding over 4 months now ? still get embarrassed,” one commenter wrote.

Another fan took to the comments to point just how far we, as a society, have come with normalizing breastfeeding. “20 years ago I was asked to leave a coffee shop in Atlanta for breastfeeding in public,” the fan shared. “I had to take my hungry crying baby, and my embarrassed crying self, out to the street. I found a clothing store and asked if i could use one of their dressing rooms to feed my baby. We have (hopefully) come a long way! Love this pic! Congrats on your baby.”

Graham has never been one to shy away from pushing the boundaries. Just days ago, she took to the social media platform to share the messy truth behind postpartum recovery. “After all these years in fashion I never could’ve guessed that disposable underwear would be my favorite piece of clothing but here we are!” she shared alongside a photo of herself standing in her bathroom. “No one talks about the recovery and healing (yes even the messy parts) new moms go through. I wanted to show you guys that it’s not all rainbows and butterflies!”

Kudos to this new mama for always keeping it real!
