YOU could spend hours getting lost in the Trader Joe’s aisles as you snap up their latest deals.

But one woman has shared how she makes her trip to the grocery store super quick, thanks to her clever 4 by 2 method.


Social media user and bargain hunter Kelsey Lynn Jones lifted the lid on her tried and tested technique of making sure you get a healthy and balanced shop in no time at all.

Kelsey, whose TikTok profile is @kelseylynnjones, uploaded a video of her Trader Joe’s shopping spree.

Next to it, she wrote: “How I grocery shop using the 4×2 method at Trader Joe’s.” 

The TikToker then revealed she starts by going to the fruit and veg section.

Once there, she fills up her trolley with two pieces of fruit of her choice – from bananas to blueberries.

She then does the same for vegetables, picking up some kale and English cucumbers from the shelves. 

Next, she picks two fat items, opting for healthier choices like avocado and feta cheese. 

While she completes her basket with two pieces of protein. – free range chicken breast and some eggs.

One she’s chosen two items from each of the four departments – hence the method’s name – she said it’s time to hit the rest of the aisles. 

Kelsey, who filmed the clip in New York City, wrote: “Then I’ll shop the rest of the store.

“Salad dressing, paper products, spices, sauces, water etc.” 

And Kelsea was keen to give her 63.5k followers another handy tip. 

She then added in the caption: “I don’t always limit myself to just two of each.

“But use it as a starting place for a balanced grocery shop.”

Fellow social media users went wild for the idea, as 408.4k people liked the video.

One person said: “I think this is a nice idea for people who just don’t know what to eat and get overwhelmed.

“Thank you! Will be trying this.”
