JUST because you're on the shorter side doesn't mean you always have to suffer in heels.

This fashion whizz revealed the simple tricks you can follow that will make flats look just as good and wont make your feet ache.

Fellow short girl, Chi Li explained on YouTube that you can make flat shoes work for you, even for more dressy events, as long as you follow her tips.

Go for low vamp

Low vamp shoes cover your feet less, making them instantly look longer.

Shoes with a large tongue section will cut off your feet and make your legs appear short and stumpy, Chi explained.

She said: "If you can almost see the cleavage of your toe that means the vamp is low enough."

Black tights and black flats

"This works wonders for anyone who wants to elongate their legs," The pro said.

Wearing black tights is sometimes unavoidable, especially in the colder months, but wearing black tights with coloured shoes will always cut of your legs.

Stick to black tights and black shoes for a seamless look.

Avoid wide-leg trousers

Although wide-leg trousers look great with heels, wearing them with flats will only make you look shorter.

Chi explained: "You don't have that lifted effect so the volume can look overwhelming."

Stick to pointed toes

Chi said: "The best way for your legs to look lengthened in flats is to wear pointed toe shoes.

"You'll immediately see a big difference and they'll make your legs look so much longer even without heels."

If you're not a fan of pointed toe shoes, go for rounded toes instead, but no matter what avoid square toes.

Avoid ankle straps

"Ankle straps can make your legs look cut off because there's a horizontal line at your ankle.

The only way to get around it is to wear a nude coloured ankle strap so that they blend into your skin more.
