I’m getting through the cost of living thanks to a sugar daddy – he’s paying for my heating, I don’t have to do anything | The Sun

A MUM struggling with the cost of living crisis has admitted her kids would go hungry if she didn’t get help with her bills from her sugar daddy.

Caroline Wambui, 32, says that before finding an older bloke to foot her bills, the worry of providing for her kids had caused her to suffer from depression.

But, after meeting someone on SugarDaddy.com earlier this year, his regular payments towards her electricity and food bills have eased some of the pressure.

Part-time model Caroline, who is also studying for a diploma in beauty therapy, said her Sugar Daddy is not a rich person but helps where he can.

She says: “Everything has become so expensive and it’s making people go crazy.

“Paying for electricity has been difficult. Before £50 would have got you a full bag of food shopping but that’s not the case anymore.

“I have felt really depressed and so worried about making sure I can provide for my kids.

“When I had a problem with my benefits, my kids got really skinny because there wasn’t as much food in the house.

“This man I have met has been putting food on my table. Without him, my kids would go to the fridge and see it empty.”

Caroline joined SugarDaddy.com in late 2019 and met someone just before the pandemic hit.

Her profile became inactive while that person supported her through covid but their relationship stopped when he left the country for work earlier this year, so Caroline logged back onto the site to see if she could meet someone new.

She says: “I have been dating older men since I was 23 – older men treat me with respect and understand how to treat women properly.

“And if that older person can provide for me, I will appreciate it.

“I can’t date men who I have to spend money on. I need to spend my money on my children.”

She adds: “People on SugarDaddy.com are looking for people they can date – they’re not going to give money to just anyone.

“It’s not an escort agency – the men have to get to know you, it has to be a relationship.

“But most men on there will already know that the women will need a bit of financial help and maybe a bit of guidance or help building up their confidence.”

Caroline, from Kingston-upon-Thames, said her Sugar Daddy gives her around £200 once or twice a month and also pays for her driving lessons.

She has failed her test once but wants to pass so she can make her kids proud.

She explains: “I have met this man a couple of times and he seems like a nice person. He wants to get to know me.

“We talk on the phone a lot and have video calls.

“I need to wait for him to see if it will turn into anything more like boyfriend and girlfriend – we have been seeing each other for a while but he travels a lot.”

Caroline said she was on Tinder for a while but the people she met on there were simply focused on her looks.

She says: “I would always date an older man now. They always show me so much more respect and value me as a person.”

Speaking about how hard the cost of living crisis has been, Caroline adds: “I have been properly struggling, I was behind on my bills and I couldn’t buy shoes for my daughter.
