The North Face is commemorating Sally McCoy’s famous 1987 attempt as the first American woman to climb Mount Everest. Presented is the “NSE Expedition” collection, spanning a concise selection of warm outerwear enlivened by vibrant colors, graphics and hi-tech materials.
The capsule includes quilted puffer jackets and trousers, long-sleeves, fleece zip-ups and insulated parkas. One noteworthy piece is a navy parka that’s been heavily padded. It features a stalky build with exteriors made of nylon and a handful of useful pockets. Starting at the top of the garment is an embroidered “The North Face” logo woven over a black panel near the left shoulder. Below this is an arm patch labeled with “Sagarmatha” and “Himalayas” as nods to neighboring regions surrounding Mount Everest. This patch is also seen over other pieces in the capsule, like the padded trousers and fleece zip-ups, and references other peaks like “Lhotse.” All pieces in the capsule are made from 100% recycled materials.
The first drop of The North Face’s “NSE Expedition” capsule is currently available on the label’s website for £220 GBP (approximately $293 USD).
