Pret reveals seasonal Christmas menu – and there are lots of festive surprises

Pret have upped their Christmas menu game this year.

Every year, supermarkets and café chains reveal their Christmas menus.

For several weeks in the lead up to the big day, suddenly turkey and cranberry combos are everywhere you look.

While some menus might disappoint, Pret’s has us excited for the commute into work, purely so that a limited edition sandwich is justified.

Returning on November 9, there will be sandwiches, toasties, flatbreads, drinks and more.

In a flash sale this July, the chain brought back their classic Christmas Lunch sandwich to the delight of customers who were lucky enough to quickly bag one before they sold out.

It’s a sure sign that their Christmas offerings will be snapped up sharpish.

These are the items you can expect to see next time you visit a Pret.

Sandwiches and pasta

There are some Pret savoury classics returning. These include:

  • Christmas Baguette: Thick slices of British turkey with port and orange cranberry sauce, herby pork stuffing, baby spinach leaves and are finished with a dab of mayo and Pret’s famous crispy onions.
  • Pigs in Blankets Hot Roll: Lincolnshire style sausages wrapped in streaky bacon, on a layer of caramelised onion chutney and finished with a dab of mustard mayo in a warm crusty roll.
  • Brie, Pistachio & Cranberry Baguette: A layer of brie cheese with cranberry sauce and pistachios sprinkled throughout.
  • Vegan Christmas Nut Roast: Made with crispy onions. For sandwich sold specifically, 50p will be donated The Pret Foundation to help tackle poverty, homelessness and hunger.

New things you can expect to see on offer are:

  • Turkey & Trimmings Toastie: The new addition is made up of Wiltshire ham, British turkey, herby pork stuffing, a dollop of caramelised onion chutney all toasted to oozy melted cheddar cheese perfection.
  • Christmas Stuffing Mac & Cheese: Pasta with a herb and pork stuffing mixture, combined with creamy mature cheddar, béchamel sauce and parsley topped with a sprinkling of breadcrumbs and Italian cheese.
  • Vegan Christmas Flatbread: A layer of vegan sage mayo, port and orange cranberry sauce, Christmas Pesto, roasted herby butternut squash along with sweet potato falafel and pickled cabbage and carrot in a wholemeal flat, giving vegans more tasty Christmas options this year.
  • Vegan Festive Pasta Bake: Christmas Pesto, tubetti rigati pasta mixed with vegan béchamel sauce and herby roasted butternut squash. (Exclusive to Veggie Pret)

Drinks and sweets

There’s plenty of newness on this side too, meaning those with a sweet tooth have plenty to try.

You’ll recognise some items from previous years:

  • Gingerbread Latte: Gingerbread syrup, an espresso shot, steamed milk and is topped with whipped cream and a sprinkling of cinnamon.
  • Christmas Tiffin: With cranberries and pistachio.
  • Melvin, Pret’s Melting Gingerbread Snowman: A biscuit to be enjoyed by all ages.

Briony Raven, UK food and coffee director at Pret said: ‘We know our customers look forward to our Christmas menu all year long.

‘With many of us missing our favourite Christmas treats last year we’ve put together a Christmas menu which celebrates the nation’s favourite Christmas dishes and Pret goodies including a whole drinks range inspired by our Pret sweet treats.

‘Not only have we brought back our iconic Christmas classics but we’ve also created many new items, including a new Turkey & Trimmings Toastie and plenty for our vegan customers to dig into. We can’t wait to welcome customers back with more Christmas hot food than ever before.’

The limited edition menu will run until the end of December, while supply lasts.

For the first three weeks Pret’s Christmas Lunch sandwich will be available exclusively in shops and on Deliveroo while the rest of the Pret and Veggie Pret items can be bought in shops or ordered via any delivery partner including
Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat.
