Eden (Stephanie Panozzo) has been unconscious since the day of Felicity’s wedding, when the two women were involved in a horrific car crash which saw the vehicle rolling over several times before catching on fire.
As the driver, Eden was injured the worst, and she remains in a coma while Cash (Nicholas Cartwright), Felicity (Jacqui Purvis), Remi (Adam Rowland) and Kirby (Angelina Thomson) make regular visits to her bedside.
While Rose (Kirsty Marillier) and Cash are away dealing with the bikies, Eden suddenly begins waking up. Bree (Juliet Godwin) comes running in and reassures her as she panics, feeling the tube down her throat helping her breathe. Understandably, she is confused and disoriented, but it isn’t long before Kirby and Remi are by her side to welcome her back.
When Cash picks up the phone, he learns that Eden is awake, and he’s overjoyed. He heads straight to the hospital to see her, and she’s happy to see him. However, when Cash begins pouring out his heart to her, she looks confused. From outside, Kirby suddenly hears Eden calling for her, sounding panicked. She’s looking up at Cash, recoiling in horror – what does he mean, they can be together?
Kirby, Bree and Cash exchange looks – before Eden was in a coma, she was pining for Cash and telling him she loved him. Cash returning her feelings should be exactly what she wants to hear…clearly Eden is suffering from amnesia as a result of her coma.
But does this mean her love story with Cash is over before it could even begin? Eden insists that Cash leaves, and Bree says it might be best if he does. Heartbroken, Cash is forced to accept his new reality and leave Eden with her friends.
Eden is distressed, wondering what on earth Cash was talking about and feeling frightened by the fact she can’t remember anything about him.
Bree sends her for scans, but that isn’t enough for Eden – she begs her friends for details of her forgotten relationship. However, everyone is tight-lipped, not wanting to distress her further and hoping her memories will return. But will they?
