With only two weeks left until Debenhams shuts down the remainder of its high street stores for good, many savvy shoppers have taken advantage of the closing down sale, taking to social media to show off the amazing bargains they’ve picked up in store.

Posting to the Facebook page Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, one happy shopper shared her amazement when she nabbed herself BaByliss’ Curl Secret Simplicity Gift Set, which usually costs £120 here – for just £19.20.

“Absolutely chuffed with this bargain Debenhams closing down sale. Last one on the shelf – £120 down to £24 scanned @ £19.20,” she writes.

The post has been flooded with comments from fellow bargain hunters, who were equally as impressed with her beauty bargain.

“Omg omg! I really want one of these but couldn't afford them. That's an amazing bargain lucky you,” one person commented.

“What a find. These are brill,” another said.

The BaByliss Curl Secret Simplicity Gift Set includes the curling tool, a vanity mirror and a luxury carry case – what a bargain!

While the savvy shopper saved over 80 per cent off her curling set, other members of the bargain-hunting group weren’t so lucky.

“Got one today but mine was £36. Last on shelf,” one person wrote.

“I went to Merry Hill yesterday and this was £120 down to £47,” another said.

Some shoppers took to the comment section to share their own savvy sale finds. One person claiming that they managed to pick up an electric toothbrush and some hair straighteners for a fraction of the original retail price.

“I got an Oral B electric toothbrush today £60 to £9.60, pack of new heads for toothbrush £20 to £3.20 and Remington Sleek hair straighteners £60 to £9.60,” she wrote.

Some shoppers are finding greater savings than others, and many claim that this all depends on which date your local store closes.

“They are not this price in every store…all goes down to what date they are closing,” one shopper wrote on the post.

If your nearest Debenhams store is still open, you’ll have to be quick, as these Facebook users are complaining about stock running out fast.

“Apparently the ones near us have all been raided with nothing left,” one person said.

Last month, the retailer announced it would be temporarily reopening stores from April 12 as lockdown restrictions were lifted, welcoming shoppers back until all branches close permanently on May 15.
