Just one week after being spotted out packing on the PDA, Brooks Laich and Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir made their relationship public by going Instagram-official.
The former NHL player, 38, posted a picture Sunday at the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Hawaii, where the couple arrived last week for a romantic getaway. In the photo, Laich and Davíðsdóttir, 28, walked toward each other from opposite sides of an infinity pool.
“‘I’ll start walking your way, you start walking mine… @katrintanja,’” Laich wrote, using lyrics from Diamond Rio’s 1991 country song “Meet in the Middle.”
The CrossFit athelete left a sweet message of her own in response, commenting, “No road is too long if we meet up in the middle?! Something like that ☺️❤️ xxx.”
Davíðsdóttir, for her part, shared a loved-up photo on her Instagram account of the couple drinking out of coconuts while poolside on their tropical vacation.
“Life is better with a couple coconuts & this favorite human of mine ?❤️☺️✨ @brookslaich,” she captioned their selfie.
Laich, who split from estranged wife Julianne Hough last year, appeared to share the same sentiment, commenting under the photo, “Back at you Miss Katrinnnnnn ??.”
Prior to the athletes’ relationship debut, they had shared photos and videos from the same Hawaiian resort but none together.
The retired ice hockey player was seen cheering on his new girlfriend during the 2021 NOBULL CrossFit Games in Madison, Wis., just last week – where he was spotted on a livestream giving her a kiss after her event.
Laich wore a white jersey with the Icelandic athlete’s name printed on it, later on sharing clips of Davíðsdóttir competing on his Instagram profile.
“It was an absolute joy to watch you in your element,” he wrote.
Davíðsdóttir is Laich’s first relationship since he and Hough, 33, announced their separation in May 2020 after three years of marriage. The “Dancing With the Stars” judge filed for divorce five months later.
