Teddy Soares' family appeared to take a swipe at Faye Winter following her remarks during their explosive break-up in Love Island.

Over the last few episodes, Faye has raised eyebrows with viewers at home, who complained to Ofcom about her behaviour towards Teddy after she watched a clip of him flirting with Clarisse Juliette in Casa Amor.

Faye has never been a fan of Teddy's footwear choices and in one outburst, she shouted across the garden: ""He's a nice guy, Uncle Ted! Get your f***ing sandals on and f*** off!"

After Faye made the remark, Teddy's family appeared to hit back via his Instagram account.

Sharing a snap of Teddy proudly wearing his brown sandals while chilling with the other boys in their trainers, they adde the caption: "You couldn't walk a mile in my sandals #uncleteddy #stylish."

Teddy's followers were quick to comment underneath the snap to say they loved his sandals too.

"Ngl I actually prefer the sandals, everyone has the same trainers it's boring," one person said.

Another added: "I think the sandals are pretty stylish, looks like Birkenstock!"

A third said: "Everybody will want the teddy sandals."

Faye and Teddy's explosive rows have led to the end of their relationship and Sunday night's episode saw the lettings agent tell the financial consultant that she wants to be "on my own".

Prior to this, the blonde beauty was called "childish" by Teddy for giving him the middle finger and claiming he lied to her about his antics in Casa Amor.

Faye's friends and family have since urged viewers to remember the show is "highly-edited" as they released a statement following a barrage of complaints to Ofcom.

"Faye is human, she may not always get things right," they said. "We ask that everyone please remember this before commenting or messaging.

"We make no apology for turning off comments, blocking and deleting to protect the mental wellbeing of ourselves and Faye when she comes out. We would encourage anyone struggling to do the same thing.

"We hope that we can all get back to enjoying the show together from now on."
