Cadbury fans ‘devastated’ after ‘favourite’ hot chocolate drink is axed

Cadbury fans have been left devastated by the news that their "favourite" hot chocolate drink has been discounted.

Ahead of the festive season, one shopper searched high and low for Cadbury's Wispa Hot Chocolate for a tasty and warming treat. Struggling to find the item the fan took to X, formerly Twitter, to question what had happened to the product and asked: "@CadburyUK why can’t I find wispa hot chocolate anywhere???"

The multinational confectionery company responded by saying: "The Wispa Gold Hot Chocolate has been discontinued, however we still have lots of other chocolatey treats to try." Shoppers were left disheartened to learn that the popular chocolatey drink was no longer available.

Another had also demanded an answer, as they tagged Cadbury on X and wrote: "Where is all the wispa hot chocolate at!? I dont like any other £7.99 on @AmazonUK its just not the Christmas vibe."

The Cadbury Wispa Hot Chocolate is loved so much that it's secured 4.5 stars out of five on Amazon. One fan wrote: "This is the only instant hot chocolate we drink. Perfectly frothy, with a delicious chocolate taste. The powder dissolves a lot better than other brands too so no horrible lumps floating on the top."

A second said: "What can I add it’s my lads favourite hot chocolate"

"Love this hot chocolate. Great chocolaty flavour without being too heavy", a third commented.

Another simply said: "Great hot chocolate lovely and frothy."

The product has even secured praise from across the pond as one customer wrote: "Well worth the wait! Can't buy this yummy product in the states so thank gosh Amazon offers it."

While the product is no longer available in UK shops, it is still available to buy from Amazon. But if you're eager to get your hands on Wispa's Hot Chocolate you'll have to stock up the cupboards as you can only currently buy a pack of three for £15.99.

It comes after Cadbury confirmed that they had also axed its Peanut Caramel Crisp Bars which had been labelled "best chocolate bar they have created in years". Responding to the news one unhappy customer wrote: "Aw no! That sucks, it's our favourite."

Another chocolate bar removed from the shelves has been from Mars Wrigley UK who axed their Milky Way Crispy Rolls. Nestlé also said a fond farewell to their hugely popular Caramac bar after 64 years.
