?? South Africa ?? • After months of planning, Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in South Africa today for their official Royal Tour of Southern Africa – focusing on community, grassroots leadership, women’s and girls’ rights, mental health, HIV/AIDS and the environment. Their first stop was to the incredible Justice Desk Project which works to make women and children safer in Nyanga. It’s an issue of vital importance in South Africa and across the globe, their Royal Highnesses wanted to learn first-hand about the issues people face and the work being done on the ground. One of the workshops Their Royal Highnesses saw was the Mbokodo project which provides self-defense classes and female empowerment workshops to young girls who are overcoming major traumas. This project's powerful motto is "wathint' abafazi wathint' imbokodo" which means "you strike a woman; you strike a rock" • “And just on one personal note, may I just say that while I am here with my husband as a member of The Royal Family, I want you to know that for me I am here with you as a mother, as a wife, as a woman, as a woman of colour and as your sister.” – The Duchess of Sussex • @TheJusticeDesk Project is supported by the @Queens_Commonwealth_Trust and works with community leaders in Nyanga, with the firm belief that if you can change the mindset of a community, you can change the mindset of a country. #SussexRoyalTour #RoyalVisitSouthAfrica • Photo ©️PA images / SussexRoyal – video SussexRoyal

The two also held hands throughout the event and frequentlygave each other loving touches, which only reinforces the idea that they arevery much in love. It is also a great indication that the feeling is mutual, asMarkle was also engaging in similar displays of affection.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry enjoy their first tour as afamily

The trip to South Africa is Harry and Markle’s first as afamily of three. The couple has a slew of appearances planned throughout the10-day tour and will visit a number of different countries along the way.

Two of the big themes of the tour are making connectionswith smaller communities and empowering women, a subject Markle has championedin recent months.

One of their first stops on the tour was a visit to thetownship of Nyanga, a part of South Africa that deals with a high level ofviolence against young girls and women.

Prince Harry gave a rousing speech during their Nyangavisit, telling a crowd of more than 250 people that the cycle of violenceagainst women must stop. He then praised the community for having a strongspirit and urged them to redefine what it means to be masculine.

Markle, of course, also spoke at the event. The formeractress made it a point to connect with members of the audience and assuredeveryone in attendance that she understands the importance of being a mother, awife, and someone of color.

Harry and Markle’s presence has been well received during the first leg of their trip. This is undoubtedly a welcome change for the couple, who has experienced a rash of negative press recently.

Archie meets Desmond Tutu

Archie Harrison was spotted in an adorable outfit when thecouple first landed in Cape Town but has since been kept out of the spotlight.

During their visit to the District Six Museum, Harry offeredan update on what Archie has been up to. The Duke of Sussex revealed thatArchie was exhausted after the long plane ride and was resting up with a nanny.

Apparently, after a couple of days of rest, Archie was ready for his first public outing. Rocking a $16 outfit from H&M, Harry and Markle gave the world their first real glimpse of their son while introducing him to Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
