A picture of a bowl of pasta is making Italians shudder.
On Facebook, a woman known only as Kristi D, turned stomachs by cooking fusilli with gravy.
The quirky combination was posted to the Rate My Plate group, where it was ridiculed by foodies.
One commenter branded it “absolutely disgusting”, while others said they felt nauseous looking at it.
A responder wrote: “I’ve seen it all now.
“Since when has pasta and gravy been a classic? I feel sick just looking at it.”

A second said: “I love gravy and I love pasta. But together? Absolutely no.”
Another commented: “I am 100% Italian and I am also screaming.
“The pasta looks nicely looked, but try another sauce.”
And a fourth asked: “Who the heck puts pasta and gravy together? Just no.”
Even though the post sparked horror in hundreds of Facebook users, it was welcomed by others.
Some defended the two-ingredient dish – and admitted to eating it on a regular basis.
One Facebook user gushed: “Yes! I love pasta and gravy.
“When I tell others about this they turn their noses up… until they try it.”
Another said: “Pasta and gravy is honestly amazing, fight me.”
And a third added: “Honestly love pasta with gravy had it a few times this week.”

Others argued that gravy and pasta isn’t even that weird.
In countries including Germany, Austria and Hungary, spätzle is popular dish.
The egg noodles are sometimes paired with gravy-like sauces or goulash.
A Rate My Plate member explained: “I mean spatzle is a kind of pasta and it can be a side dish with gravy on it.
“Gravy is good on pasta guys.”
