Sam Faiers’ baby name meaning as she chooses classic moniker for third child

Sam Faierstook to Instagram toannounce her son’s traditional nameon Friday.

The 31 year old shared a sweet snap of her youngest child, announcing that she and partner Paul Knightley have named him Edward.

The gorgeous picture of the tot posing in a blue onesie came with a gushing message from Sam telling followers that becoming a mum of three was a “game changer”.

Alongside the picture of her baby boy, Sam wrote: “Edward Knightley. A month ago today you were born at home surrounded by so much love.

“It’s for sure been a game changer for mummy having 3 little Knightley’s, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I have soaked up every second with you darling, this is just the beginning..”

Edward is younger brother to Paul Junior, six and four year old Rosie.

While the name has been steadily popular over the years, it is a primarily English name.

According toBabyCentre, the name is derived from “Old English words ead, meaning wealth, fortune or prosperous and wear, meaning guardian or protector”.

Sam continued in her post: “Whilst it feels like this month has gone really quick, I can’t help but think what an amazing month it’s been. I’ve really taken each day to just rest & be with my little newborn. I think I have an extra 5000 new images on my camera role.

“I couldn’t even think about doing much else than being at home with my family and really taking this time to settle the baby in & just all be together. I still have a way to go yet, this adjustment has been super full on but equally loving every moment. I’m so proud my heart could burst.”

Sam and Paul welcomed their son on 15 May and in the days that followedfans speculated about what their youngest’s name could have been .

Taking to Instagram, Sam posted a snap alongside a picture of a lion against a blue background and wrote: “Our new little cub has arrived! Welcome to the family baby Knightley.”

Sam then added: “Welcome to the family little cub [paw emojis], we love you so much already.”

The post got some of her followers questioning whether it could have been a clue, as one wrote: “Little ‘cub’” alongside a lion emoji, before adding: “Maybe he’s called Leo?”

While in January, Sam admitted that she’dalready had her youngest’s name picked out .

The former TOWIE star said: “I’ve got a boy name that I love and always have loved and I’ve also got a girl’s name that I’ve always loved, but I’m not sharing it.”
