Chessington theme park is getting new rides for 2020 – and a themed land too

Chessington World of Adventures is set to offer families even more, well, adventures!

The theme park resort has just revealed it's opening a brand new themed land for 2020 complete with thrilling rides, sure to be a hit with little explorers.

But that's not all. Chessington will also be opening its first ever Elmer themed ride, where little ones and their parents can take to the skies with the patchwork elephant.

New land The Rainforest , the 11th land in the resort, will give budding adventurers the chance to explore some of the world's most exotic landscapes in the form of three new rides.

There's Jungle Rangers, where riders take the wheel of a mini jeep to explore the world's rainforests by road, River Rafts, a mini log flume, and Treetop Hoppers, where you can bounce on a treetop canopy and look out for all sorts of creatures.

The land is inspired by Chessington's work with conservation charity, World Land Trust (WLT), which it has supported for eight years in protecting a threatened rainforest in Ecuador from the likes of poaching, mining and illegal logging.

The idea is that the Rainforest will offer plenty of fun while also educating visitors on rainforest conservation.

As well as the new land, Chessington will also welcome a brand new Elmer themed ride.

Families will be able to pick a colourful elephant inspired by David McKee's picture book character, and take to the skies on a flying carousel surrounded by the jungle.

In fact, fans can get a sneak peek of what to expect as the theme park has shared some of the concept art for the colourful new ride.

You can already book tickets to Chessington for 2020, with prices starting from £29.50pp when booked online in advance .
