Charlotte Crosby opens up on mum’s gruelling chemo: ‘I sit with her for six hours a day’

In the weeks that followed Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby's emotional pregnancy announcement, her mother Letitia revealed she'd been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Catching up with OK! this week, the 32-year-old mum-to-be revealed that Letitia, 53, is not only undergoing chemotherapy, but that Charlotte herself has been spending upwards of six hours per day beside her hospital bed in recent weeks.

“With my mum going through chemotherapy and spending over six hours in hospital with her per day, I’ve got to try to put all the baby business to the back of my mind. I’ve got zero time to think about it," Charlotte admitted.

Being occupied with caring for her mother – who was diagnosed with breast cancer following a routine mammogram earlier this year – the reality star also admitted she's struggling to prepare for a baby of her own.

An exhausted Charlotte – who suffered an ectopic pregnancy back in 2016 – continued, "It just doesn’t even feel like I’m having a baby. But at the same time, it feels like I’ve been pregnant for an eternity.

"I’ve got so many other things going on in my life – I don’t have time to be nervous about giving birth yet."

"It was so difficult to tell Charlotte I had cancer," Letitia said last month. "We had all the happy news a couple of months before that she was having the baby.

"We were all so happy. We had so many things to look forward to. So telling her I had cancer when she was pregnant was so hard. All I was thinking about was my first grandchild – and then you get the diagnosis and it just overshadows it."

Charlotte later announced that she'd discovered a lump in her own breast, telling her fans, "I became so much more aware of my own body. And then I found a lump literally just after mum was diagnosed.

"I went to get it checked out straight away. Luckily it was nothing bad."

Last month, Charlotte told OK! that she was overjoyed her mother was able to attend her lavish Sunderland baby shower before her treatment began.

"It meant everything to be able to have my mam at my baby shower before she started her treatment, so she could let go a bit and have some fun," she explained.

"It’s been such a traumatic time and she’s been through a whole rollercoaster of emotions. I am just trying to stay positive and keep my mam’s mind off what she’s going through by organising fun things and making fun memories together."

Geordie Shore: The Reunion premieres on 20th September at 10pm only on Paramount+ UK and MTV.
