‘Dead to Me’ pulled in 30 million viewers on Netflix

Christina Applegate is having a career renaissance because her Netflix show “Dead To Me” — for which she was just nominated for an Emmy — has a staggering number of viewers.

According to the streaming giant, 30 million people have watched the dark comedy.

The show — which has already been renewed for a Season 2 and co-stars Linda Cardellini (“Freaks and Geeks”) — features two women forming an unlikely friendship after each suffering a tragic loss.

It’s not as high profile as other offerings such as “Stranger Things” — but even if you haven’t heard of it, people are watching it.

Netflix also revealed that 25 million people watched Ava DuVernay’s “When They See Us” which follows the case of the Central Park Five and was nominated for 16 Emmys, while Ali Wong and Randall Park’s rom-com flick “Always Be My Maybe” got 32 million views.

But the current record-holder is Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston’s “Murder Mystery,” which amassed 73 million viewers worldwide, Netflix reports in its second-quarter earnings report.

It’s not all fun and games for the platform, however — its subscriber growth for the quarter fell short of expectations, with 2.7 million instead of a projected 5 million.

Still, the numbers are good news for Christina Applegate.
