Japanese tidying expert Marie Kondo and Essex-based cleaning star Mrs Hinch have been named among the top earning ‘cleanfluencers’ on Instagram.

The term refers to their status as influencers who are famous for their cleaning tips, which have won them millions of followers – and the cash to match.

Last month Mrs Hinch’s book became the second fastest selling non-fiction title ever, just a week after it was released.

And now new figures show that Marie Kondo, 34, who has 3 million followers – earns an estimated £6,000 per post, while Mrs Hinch, 29, who has 2.5 million fans – is the UK’s highest earning Cleanfluencer, thought to earn an average £4,900 per post.

Across the pond in the US, Becky Rapinchuk ‘Clean Mama’, 44, is thought to earn a healthy £1,000 per post, while just over the border, Canadian Melissa Maker, 35, makes the least from Instagram – around £226 per post – but that could be because she’s found her flair on YouTube, posting a variety of helpful tutorials.

The figures were compiled by End of Tenancy Cleaning London, who inserted the Instagram handle of each Cleanfluencer into the Instagram Money Calculator by the Influencer Marketing Hub platform, which estimates how much an influencer might earn per post on their Instagram account, before working out an average.
